Iced Cacao with Tangerine & Lavender

Bold cacao. Bright citrus. A whisper of floral calm. This is what a warm-weather elixir is meant to taste like.

Some flavor combinations just make sense. Chocolate and citrus have always understood each other — one deep and grounding, the other bright and alive. Add lavender to the equation, and something quietly extraordinary happens.

This Iced Lavender Tangerine Cacao isn't just a refreshing drink. It's a full ceremonial experience in a glass — and one of the most beautiful ways to meet your daily dose of Keith's Cacao.

The Art of the Contrast

What makes this elixir genuinely special is the interplay of its three central notes:

Keith's Cacao anchors everything — rich, complex, and potent with its full ceremonial charge of magnesium, theobromine, and mood-lifting bliss compounds. Tangerine cuts through with a juicy, sun-bright lift that wakes the palate without overpowering it — sweet, layered, and with a clean finish that lingers just long enough. Lavender does what lavender does best: it softens, elevates, and ties the whole experience together with a subtle floral elegance that feels almost meditative.

Bold. Balanced. Deeply satisfying. Every sip earns its place.

On Lavender

Lavender has been revered for centuries — in ceremony, in healing, and in the art of slowing down. Its calming influence on the nervous system is well documented: it eases anxiety, soothes an overactive mind, and carries a gentle uplifting quality that makes even the act of inhaling your drink feel intentional. In this elixir, it's not just a flavor — it's a mood.

On Citrus

The recipe calls for half a tangerine, which means you're already halfway to a little post-ceremony treat. Any citrus you have on hand will work beautifully here — each variety brings its own gift of antioxidants, fiber, and a vibrant hit of vitamin C. We reach for tangerine for its particular sweetness and complexity, but this elixir welcomes blood orange, mandarin, or even a good Meyer lemon with open arms.

And that color? That warm, luminous amber-blush in the glass? That's not incidental. It's part of the ceremony.

More Than a Drink

There's something that happens when you combine a scent that soothes, a flavor that awakens, and an ingredient as anciently powerful as ceremonial cacao. The experience becomes greater than its parts. It invites you — gently, insistently — into the present moment.

Sip it slowly. Let the tangerine open your senses. Let the lavender quiet the noise. Let the cacao do what it has always done.

This one is worth savoring.

Instructions

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ oz Keith's Cacao
  • 12 oz Almond milk
  • 1 Tangerine
  • ¼ tsp Fresh lavender
  • Stevia - to taste
  • 1 cup Ice

Instructions

  1. To begin, chop your Ceremonial Cacao and set aside.
  2. Using a potato peeler, carefully remove a curl from the tangerine peel, avoiding the white "pith" or bitter rind. Set aside.
  3. Cut your tangerine in half, and set aside.
  4. In a saucepan over low heat, add almond milk, lavender, stevia, and orange peel. Next, squeeze in half the tangerine.
  5. Allow your liquid mix to simmer gently. Ideally, it will be warm but not hot.
  6. If using a BLENDER, add the chopped cacao to a blender, pour over the liquid and blend until smooth and creamy.
  7. Alternatively, add the chopped cacao to the saucepan with the rest of the ingredients and use a WHISK to mix until fully dissolved.
  8. Next, pour your blended elixir over a glassful of ice. You may garnish your drink with a sprig of lavender or rim the edge with the remaining tangerine.
  9. Enjoy!
