Frequently Asked Questions
What airport do I fly into?
La Aurora International Airport in Guatemala City
How do I get from the airport to San Macros La Laguna?
The easiest and most direct is via a private car, but there are many options for each budget range. Inside the Homecoming Facebook Group you can arrange to share a car with other attendees. The price to hire a car and driver is APPROX 1275Q ($170USD) for up to 3 passengers, so if you are travelling in a small group to or from the La Aurora Airport, this is a great option!

Is accommodation included?
No accommodation is not included in the Homecoming ticket. You will have to make your own arrangements. San Marcos has a wide range of hotels, guesthouses, and rooms to rent.
- Best spot to stay: Aim for a place near Hippie Highway (Google it!)—the lively path down to the dock, lined with cafés, craft shops, and all the energy of the San Marcos vortex.
- Style: From barefoot-rustic to full-on luxe, you’ll find it all here. Just know that rustic really means rustic—simple rooms, cold showers, and bring-your-own toiletries.
- Favorites we love: Lush Atitlán, Kula Maya, El Dragón, Posada del Bosque Encantado, and La Paz Eco Hotel. La Paz is the most budget-friendly and it’s also where we’ll gather for breakfast each morning.
⚠️ Important: If you're booking through an online platform, double-check that your accommodation is in San Marcos—not San Pedro, not Tzununa. Only San Marcos will keep you close to the heart of Homecoming.
Are meals included?
Your ticket includes breakfast each day and three special dinners. Beyond that, San Marcos is a foodie paradise, with plenty of restaurants, most of which cater to vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free diets.
Are special dietary concerns catered for?
Yes. After booking your ticket, you will be asked to fill in an Intake Form where you can note any dietary restrictions.
Are children welcome to attend?
Yes, however, children over the age of 2 will require their own ticket.
