ABOUT KEITH
"CHOCOLATE SHAMAN" • FOUNDER OF KEITH'S CACAO • HUMAN CATALYST FOR THE MODERN CEREMONIAL CACAO MOVEMENT
Keith Wilson was a geologist, herbalist, and healer when a chance encounter in Guatemala in 2003 changed everything. The consciousness of the cacao plant spoke to him — and he listened.
He created what he called Ceremonial Grade Cacao and began sharing it from his porch in San Marcos La Laguna with anyone drawn to find him. His students called him the Chocolate Shaman. As they carried his teachings home, cacao ceremonies spread across the world. Today, Keith is widely regarded as the father of the modern ceremonial cacao movement.
But Keith was more than a cacao maker — more than a shaman. He was a brilliant processing intuitive, with a rare gift for reading what was moving inside a person and guiding them through it with precision and love. His porch, as he put it, was an unofficial school.
"This is a school for how to get out of your own way. It's a school for healers, teachers, energy workers, creators, artists, and manifesters. But we don't teach techniques. Because you don't need it. Everything is already inside, ready to roll."
"If you can feel it, you can heal it. And if you can do this for yourself, you can do it for others."
Keith passed away on January 14, 2024. He left behind a community devoted to carrying his mission forward — and a remarkable archive of his voice, his wisdom, and his wit, all recorded live in ceremony. It is from this archive that Miriam draws each month.
